Hand Spinning Workshop Days – Corso di filatura manuale

May 26th and 27th, 2012 at The Wool Box in Miagliano (Piedmont, Italy).

It has been GREAT learning how to hand-spin with Deborah Gray!

I decided to attend this workshop because I’ve got a project buzzing in my mind, at which I began working over the last few weeks – at last! I hope I’ll soon be able to publish a post with some photos of the yarns I’m hand-spinning with a DROP SPINDLE – one of the simplest tools ever invented by humans, but definitely one of the most handy, useful, interesting and fascinating. WOW. It’s fantastic when you feel a yarn taking shape in between your fingers, it’s like feeling the POWER OF CREATION at its purest, flowing fiercely through your veins! ArGh!

They’ve been two wonderful days and I’m here to say MANY THANKS to all contributors:

  • Deborah Gray, who is an extremely competent (and PATIENT) teacher;
  • Emilio and Linda of The Wool Box, who are working passionately to a very interesting project about wool, wool culture and all kind of (hand)made form of art connected to it. They’ve been so warm and caring!
  • all workshop attendees, so NICE and PASSIONATE boys and girls coming from every part of Italy (and abroad!). We got on SO WELL together!

26 e 27 Maggio 2012 presso The Wool Box a Miagliano (BI).

E’ stata un’esperienza MERAVIGLIOSA imparare a filare a mano con Deborah Gray!

Ho deciso di partecipare a questo corso per via di un progetto che mi ronza nella testa, e al quale – FINALMENTE! – sono riuscita a dedicare un po’ di tempo ed energie nel corso delle ultime settimane. Spero di riuscire a pubblicare presto un post con le foto dei filati che sto realizzando A MANO con il FUSO: uno dei più semplici strumenti che siano mai stati inventati dal genere umano, ma sicuramente anche uno dei più maneggevoli, utili, interessanti e affascinanti. WOW. E’ fantastico sentire il filato che si forma pian piano tra le dita, è come sentire di avere il POTERE, il potere CREATIVO che ti scorre dentro nelle vene con una forza che ti travolge di passione ed emozione. ArGh!

Sono stati due giorni favolosi e vorrei ringraziare dal profondo del cuore tutti coloro che vi hanno partecipato:

  • Deborah Gray, che è un’insegnante estremamente competente (e PAZIENTE);
  • Emilio e Linda di The Wool Box, che stanno lavorando con passione a un progetto molto interessante sulla lana, la cultura della lana e tutto ciò che di ARTISTICO si può fare (a mano) con la lana. Sono stati così gentili! Un’ottima accoglienza, un ottimo trattamento;
  • tutti i corsisti, ragazzi e ragazze SIMPATICI e APPASSIONATI, giunti per l’occasione a Miagliano da ogni parte d’Italia (e anche dall’estero!). Siamo stati proprio bene insieme!
