Thanks to the wonderful hand-spinning workshops I followed on May and October 2012 at The Wool Box site in Miagliano, held by the excellent Deborah Gray, I know at last what I’m going to do with the huge amounts of waste materials which inevitably produces who, like me, is used to use lots of yarns, all different one from another as regards typology, composition and color. In 2009, when I began getting more and more engaged in the egle.is project, I decided to save and put aside all little pieces of yarn I cut off from points of union between a yarn and another, a color and another: OMG, I can’t really say HOW MANY bags and packets I filled up, a very big part of a wardrobe completely FULL of them! But I didn’t know yet what to do with all those bits and bobs, until when, in November 2011, I visited The Wool Box, where I met Emilio, who talked me about Deborah’s hand-spinning workshops, but above all about DEBORAH herself, and the extremely interesting project that is in course of achievement in Miagliano’s site. PURE REVELATION! Hand-spinning had to be the PERFECT way to recover my yarn scraps. So… I’m working on it!
Grazie ai fantastici corsi di filatura manuale che ho seguito a maggio e ottobre 2012 presso The Wool Box a Miagliano (BI), tenuti dall’eccellente Deborah Gray, finalmente so che cosa farò dell’abbondante quantità di materiale di scarto che inevitabilmente si ritrova fra le mani chi, come me, lavora all’uncinetto una marea di filati, tutti diversi tra loro per tipologia, composizione e colore. Nel 2009, quando ho iniziato a lavorare in maniera più assidua ai progetti di egle.is, ho deciso di conservare tutti i pezzettini di filato tagliati via nei punti di unione tra un filo e l’altro, tra un colore e l’altro: non vi dico quanti pacchetti e pacchettini ho riempito, un’anta di armadio particamente piena! Ma non sapevo ancora come li avrei utilizzati, fino a quando, nel novembre del 2011, ho visitato la sede di The Wool Box, dove ho incontrato Emilio, che mi ha parlato dei corsi di filatura tenuti da Deborah ma soprattutto DI Deborah, e dell’interessantissimo, emozionante progetto in corso di realizzazione a Miagliano. Ed è stata pura RIVELAZIONE. La filatura manuale era IL metodo PERFETTO per recuperare i miei finalini di filato. E… ci sto lavorando!
