Hand making is an exhausting activity, but when PASSION is the guide, surely it becomes the most fantastic activity of all. Why do I produce only OOAK items? My creations are quite complex to make and consequenlty require a lot of time, persevering application, great effort and dedication to take shape in my hands. Making copies would be totally unacceptable – and moreover, boring, boring and boring again. Making copies bores me to death. What I absolutely prefer is ever looking for new types of yarns and new colors, to create countless combinations of these and new ways to match them together. Yes of course, the basic shapes of my creations are, in the end, always the same. But I could NOT make a constant use of the same yarns, the same colors, the same combinations. I’d die inside. Each of the things I produce must have a precise identity, a specific character, a special colors combination, its unique and unmistakable nuances. As if it had a life of its own, a name and a soul. And this makes a lot of sense, considering all the work behind.
SO: Egle DOES NOT mass-produce, nor works on commission – kind of, “Oh I like this one so much, will you make ten more for me?”. I gladly accept only custom requests related to the sizes of blankets, which I offer standard-sized and customers may ask for enlargement, to reach the size they need.

Lavorare a mano è un’attività estenuante, ma se è la passione a guidarla, è sicuramente l’attività più bella del mondo. Perché io produco solo modelli unici? Le mie creazioni sono abbastanza complesse da realizzare e di conseguenza richiedono parecchio tempo, molta applicazione e un intenso impegno per prendere forma tra le mie mani. Replicarle in maniera “gemellina” sarebbe quindi inaccettabile (leggi: noioso, noioso, noioso). Mi annoio a morte copiare. Preferisco cercare sempre nuovi tipi di filato e nuovi colori, per creare delle combinazioni sempre diverse, da abbinare in maniera sempre diversa… anche se in fondo, le FORME di BASE delle mie creazioni sono alla fin fine sempre le stesse. Ma non riuscirei ad utilizzare costantemente gli stessi filati, gli stessi colori, gli stessi abbinamenti. Morirei dentro. Ognuna delle cose che creo deve avere la sua identità ben precisa, il suo carattere spiccato, il suo tono di colore, le sue sfumature uniche e inconfondibili. Come se avesse un nome, un’anima. E questo è molto sensato, se si pensa bene a tutto il lavoro che ci sta dietro.
QUINDI: la Egle NON propone cose fatte in serie, NE’ accetta lavori su commissione (del tipo, “mi piace tanto questa, me ne faresti dieci tutte uguali?”). L’unica personalizzazione che la Egle accetta volentieri è quella relativa alle misure delle coperte: io le propongo in misura standard, il cliente può richiedere di ampliarle fino a raggiungere le dimensioni desiderate.
Per garantire l’esclusività dei miei modelli unici, ho assegnato loro un sistema di numerazione univoco e ho creato un catalogo online che raccoglie tutta la mia produzione dal 2000 in avanti: tutte le informazioni a riguardo sono disponibili qui.
